11 Troubleshooting
Solving Common Problems
Before calling EXFO’s technical support, please read the following
common problems that can occur and their respective solution.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
Incorrect system time. Hardware reset button is
pressed.
Set the system time in
the Basic settings
menu.
You cannot power on
the unit.
The battery is
discharged.
Connect the power
supply unit and charge
the battery.
Software failure. Press the hardware reset
button (the pin-hole
next to the 12V
connector on the side
panel of the unit).
The battery is not
charged from the
external power supply.
Power supply unit
failure, broken wire,
battery failure.
Check the power supply
unit or the battery and if
necessary send the unit
for service at the service
center.
